News from the Field: Hope for Haiti’s Most Desperate Children

The need is great, but Susie Krabacher isn’t one to balk at a challenge. When Susie first saw the suffering of children in Haiti, she vowed to do everything she could to help.
Today, Susie’s organization, Mercy & Sharing, provides vital aid to thousands of children every year, from life-saving medical care and nutritious meals, to shelter from the streets and a quality education.
How Your Funding is Changing Children’s Lives
Last year, we honored Susie with our 2013 Alumni Award and provided Mercy & Sharing with $50,000 in funding. So far, Susie has used the first portion of her grant to:
- Ensure 126 abandoned, orphaned and disabled children have 24/7 shelter, food, medical aid, access to an education, and loving care.
- Educate 1,200 children at three schools in Haiti.
- Feed 900 children and their families in villages suffering from severe drought and devastated crops.
- Provide 5,000 children and their communities with access to clean water, through two wells at the John Branchizio School and Mercy & Sharing Village.
