In Haiti, one of the poorest countries in the world, children face numerous challenges that threaten their daily survival and ability to grow, including hunger, homelessness, violence and disease.
The need is great, but Susie Krabacher isn’t one to balk at a challenge. When Susie first saw the suffering of children in Haiti, she vowed to do everything she could to help.
Today, Susie’s organization, Mercy & Sharing, provides vital aid to thousands of children every year, from life-saving medical care and nutritious meals, to shelter from the streets and a quality education.
Last year, we honored Susie with our 2013 Alumni Award and provided Mercy & Sharing with $50,000 in funding. So far, Susie has used the first portion of her grant to:
