As 2012 comes to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on some of this year’s accomplishments that wouldn’t have happened without the generous support of people like you. In 2012, we….
Changed lives.
Children like three-year-old Reg Bahadur Thapa in Nepal can now walk, thanks to free treatment for his club foot; and 16-year-old Margarita, who worked on the streets in the Dominican Republic, is about to start college. Countless other children benefited from our vital programs in 2012.
Funded.
Thanks to your support this year, our 2012 Honorees received a total of $260,000 in grant funding, ensuring that hundreds of thousands of children will have the chance at a brighter future in 2013.
Celebrated.
In October, over 400 guests joined us in New York City to celebrate the work of six extraordinary people who are making the world a better place for children. The generosity of our attendees and sponsors raised nearly $800,000 for vulnerable children around the world.
Grew.
This year, 46% more heroes were nominated for our Award from 85 countries around the world, including our first applications from Kiribati, Bhutan and Romania. Traffic to our newly designed website grew by 218% over last year and our social media networks grew exponentially.
Thank you for giving more children health, happiness and hope this year. Together, we can make the world a better place for even more children in 2013.
That’s something we can toast to.
