A renowned journalist who has contributed to stories from around the world, Alina Cho has served on World of Children’s Advisory Council since 2011. Alina has also graciously served as the Master of Ceremonies at our Awards Ceremony since 2009. In November 2015, she rang the NASDAQ opening bell for World of Children with Co-Founder Harry Leibowitz and Celebrity Ambassador Stephanie March.
Alina Cho is a contributor to CBS Sunday, the top-rated Sunday morning program in the United States. She also serves as Editor at Large at Ballantine Bantam Dell, where she is responsible for acquiring and editing fashion and lifestyle books, including the memoirs of Tommy Hilfiger and Donna Karan.
Ms. Cho hosts a lecture series at The Metropolitan Museum of Art called The Atelier with Alina Cho. Past guests include Anna Wintour, Donatella Versace, Michael Kors, Alexander Wang and Diane von Furstenberg. She is one of a handful of journalists to report from inside communist North Korea, covered the historic election of President Barack Obama and was part of the Peabody and Emmy award-winning CNN team that covered the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Alina also hosts “Big Stars, Big Giving,” an annual television special that spotlights the tremendous impact celebrities can have to further charitable causes. Alina’s heartfelt dedication to giving back also shines through her volunteer role as an Executive Committee Member for Literacy Partners and member of the Friends Committee for New Yorkers for Children.
In 2012, World of Children honored Alina with our prestigious Board of Governors’ Award for her exemplary leadership and advocacy of philanthropic efforts serving children.
