2000 HUMANITARIAN AWARD
Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos
Mexico and Central America
Father William Bryce Wasson was the founder of Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos (NPH), a family of children’s homes in Mexico. Before his death in 2006, Wasson dedicated more than 45 years of his life to serving orphaned and abandoned children by providing more than 10,000 of them with housing, health care, and loving environments. Wasson’s NPH homes also provide outreach and medical services to communities in need throughout Mexico and Central America.
After becoming a World of Children Honoree, he and his organization continued to care for orphaned and abandoned children in Mexico and Honduras as well as opening new homes in Belize and the Dominican Republic. NPH continues to expand today to carry on Wasson’s legacy with homes and outreach programs in Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Peru.
The funds awarded to Wasson as a recipient of the World of Children directly impacted children’s lives by providing food, clothing, medical care and educational materials. Wasson spent his entire life selflessly giving poor and abandoned children a chance at life.
