World of Children Issues 2014 Global Call for Nominations
World of Children® Award encourages leaders of child-serving organizations to apply for 2014 Awards and receive grants of up to $50,000.
January 9, 2014 – World of Children is now accepting Nominations for their prestigious annual Awards program, which honors and elevates heroes serving children around the world. Winners of the 2014 Awards will be flown to New York City and honored at an annual Awards Ceremony, and given up to $50,000 in grant funding. Nominations can be submitted online at worldofchildren.org/nominate.
This year, World of Children is accepting Nominations for Awards in three categories:
2014 World of Children Youth Award – minimum grant of $25,000
The Youth Award recognizes a young person under the age of 21 who is making extraordinary contributions to the lives of other children. They must have been doing this work for at least three years, and have created a sustainable program that they plan to continue to lead.
2014 World of Children Health Award – minimum grant of $50,000
The Health Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in the fields of health, medicine or the sciences. This person must have created or managed a sustainable program that has significantly contributed to the health and well-being of children. The individual’s work on behalf of children must be over and above their normal employment and they must have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years.
2014 World of Children Humanitarian Award – minimum grant of $50,000
The Humanitarian Award recognizes an individual who has made a significant contribution to children in social services, education or humanitarian services. This person must have created or managed a sustainable program which has significantly contributed to children’s opportunities to be safe, to learn and to grow. The individual’s work on behalf of children must be over and above their normal employment and they must have been doing this work for a minimum of 10 years.
Nominations for the 2014 Awards must be submitted online by 11:59 pm Pacific Daylight Time (PDT) on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. Recipients of the 2014 Awards will be officially announced and honored in New York City on November 6, 2014.
