The World of Children Selection Process:

  1. Nominations will be received (on-line only) through Wednesday, April 30, 2008. Any nominations received after this deadline will automatically be considered for the 2009 Awards.
  2. World of Children staff reviews all Nominations to assure they meet eligibility requirements before they move to the next phase of review.

The International Advisory Council meets to determine the final rank-order listing of Final Honorees to advance through the final selection process.
  6. To protect the mission and integrity of the World of Children Awards, the World of Children employs and outside investigative agency to conduct an independent audit of the authenticity and credentials of each applicant, and the related program or organization.
  7. In the final selection stage, the World of Children Board of Governors considers the recommendations of the international Advisory Council, along with the findings of the independent audit report, and votes to accept and endorse the annual Award Winners.
  8. The Board of Governors later meets to determine the final grant allocations. In 2008, the Humanitarian and Health Awards will be a maximum grant of $100,000 each. The Founder's Youth Award will be a maximum grant of $25,000 each, for two 2008 winners.
